VBOX SPORT AND IPHONE 6 ISSUES

VBOX SPORT AND IPHONE 6 ISSUES -

Some customers have experienced issues with the VBOX Laptimer app and VBOX Sport connectivity on the latest iOS devices (iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus).

A few simple steps should resolve these issues.

VBOX-Sport-Splash-screen1] Un-pair the VBOX Sport from the iPhone/iPad via the Bluetooth accessory menu.

2] Clear connection data from the VBOX Sport by holding down both buttons on the front until lights flash on the front of the device.

3] Reset the VBOX Sport by holding down the power button for 15 seconds to switch off then press the power button as normal to switch back on.

4] Turn off your Apple device then switch back on. Please do not open the Racelogic Diagnostics application – this sets the VBS to a different mode meaning that it won't connect properly to LapTimer / Performance Test application.

Is iCloud configured? Apple devices running iOS8 currently have issues with Bluetooth when iCloud is configured.

Consider following Apple's recommendations of removing the device from iCloud as per the following article:http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473?viewlocale=en_US

If the above does not resolve the issue, please contact support@racelogic.co.uk. The following information is required in order to investigate a potential software issue:

What type of device? – i.e. iPhone 4s

What OS version – i.e. iOS 7.1

Affected apps – does it happen in Laptimer and Performance Test or just one of them?

The symptoms of the problem – i.e. after opening LapTimer it remains on the splash screen attempting to connect to a VBOX Sport but never proceeds.

When the issue started occurring – was it after updating the Apple device firmware? Is it a new

Apple device that has not previously been used with RL apps?

If the problem is in connecting to a VBS, is there a solid Bluetooth light on the VBS or is it flashing?

The following FAQs might help...

Q1. I can't use iOS LapTimer with an iPhone 6/6 Plus when not connected to a VBOX Sport.

A new version of Laptimer will be released soon that will function with the internal GPS of an iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 can be used when connected to a VBOX Sport.

Q2. I cannot connect to the VBOX Sport – stuck on splash screen.

Sometimes it can take some time to connect. If after 2 minutes a connection has not been established, then follow steps 1-4 above.

Q3. The app opens and connects to the VBOX Sport. However, the app does not seem to update, speed does not refresh, etc.

Follow steps 1-4 above.

Q4. There is no solid Bluetooth light to represent a successful connection – a flashing Bluetooth light shows that a connection hasn't been properly established.

Follow steps 1-4 above.
