MIRA goes live

MIRA goes live -

MIRA proving ground have recently installed a permanent VBOX compatible GPS base station which transmits RTK correctional signals to nearly every part of the facility.

This means that any VBOX3i RTK system (with a suitable radio) can be used to perform tests which require 2cm positional accuracy - reducing costs and the time required to validate applications like Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection.

One of the by-products of this is consistency in brake testing. Although positional accuracy is not required to measure stopping distances, it does allow very accurate comparisons to be made from slightly different areas of the braking zone, where general road surface wear can lead to variations in results. The ability to know at which point of the track the tests are being performed can be used to average out these differences.

To help us keep you up to date with the latest vehicle test solutions we have set-up a dedicated VBOX Blog. Read more articles here.
